Bismillah,
Justice is the flag of the courageous
Justice must prevail.
If not, then oppression will inevitably seep through.
All of us can implement justice in our lives against oppression.
We just have show courage.
Today, we explore the life and noble teachings of Prophet Shu’aib (AS), a righteous messenger chosen by Allah (SWT) to guide his people towards justice and moral integrity.
Background
Prophet Shu’aib (AS) was sent as a prophet to the people of Midian.
The people of Midian had deviated from the path of righteousness and were engaged in corruption and oppression.
Shu’aib (AS) was known for his lineage (of Prophets), integrity, and commitment to upholding justice.
Champion of Justice
Shu’aib (AS) courageously confronted the unjust practices of his people, including dishonesty in trade, exploitation of the vulnerable, and disregard for moral values.
Prophet Shu’aib (AS) called his people to abandon idolatry and embrace monotheism, emphasizing the worship of Allah alone and the rejection of false gods.
He (AS) emphasised the importance of fairness, honesty, and compassion in all aspects of life.
Legacy
Shu’aib (AS) exemplified courageous advocacy for justice and moral principles, teaching us the importance of speaking out against wrongdoing.
Shu’aib (AS) endured persecution and rejection for the sake of Allah’s (SWT) message, highlighting the importance of resilience and patience in upholding truth.
Shu’aib (AS) status has been established in the Qur’an as a noble Prophet.
If we emulate Shu’aib’s (AS) advocacy for justice against oppression, Allah (SWT) will elevate our ranks in the dunya and/or ((more importantly) the Akhirah Bi’Ithnillah.
Application Today:
Shu’aib (AS) inspires us to advocate for justice and fairness in our communities, standing up against corruption and oppression.
Speaking up for the oppressed, in Palestine, to your workplace, to your homes.
As Muslims, we must exemplify justice against oppression.
Justice must prevail!
If not, then the opposite will ensue; oppression.
That cannot happen!
May we emulate Shu’aib’s (AS) virtues of justice and courage in the face of oppression in our lives, seeking closeness to Allah (SWT) and striving to promote righteousness and fairness in society.
Ameen!
O my people! Give full measure and weigh with justice. Do not defraud people of their property, nor go about spreading corruption in the land.
