يَـٰزَكَرِيَّآ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَـٰمٍ ٱسْمُهُۥ يَحْيَىٰ لَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ مِن قَبْلُ سَمِيًّۭا ٧˹The angels announced,˺ “O Zachariah! Indeed, We give you the good news of ˹the birth of˺ a son, whose name will be Yahya—a name We have not given to anyone before.”

Today, we explore the inspiring life and profound teachings of Prophet Zakariyah (AS), highlighting his unwavering devotion, steadfast hope, and the divine blessings bestowed upon him.
Background
Zakariyah (AS) was from the lineage of Prophets, descending to Ibrahim (AS).
Prophet Zakariyah (AS) was chosen by Allah (SWT) to guide his people during a time of spiritual decline and moral corruption.
He was a righteous and devoted servant of Allah, known for his piety and dedication to divine service.
Prophethood:
Zakariyah (AS) devoted himself to calling his people to righteousness and monotheism.
He emphasised the importance of faith, prayer, and devotion to Allah (SWT), urging his community to uphold divine commandments.
Prophet Zakariyah (AS) was blessed with divine miracles, including the gift of a righteous son (Yahya AS) in his old age (see verse above).
His (AS) supplication for progeny was answered by Allah (SWT), demonstrating the power of faith and divine intervention.
